The acceptance of any contribution, gift or contribution is at the discretion of Semia Onlus. Semia Onlus will not accept any gift unless it can be used or spent consistently with the purpose and mission of Semia Onlus.
No irrevocable gift, whether outright or in the nature of an annuity, will be accepted if in any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the financial security of the donor.
Semia Onlus will refrain from providing advice on the tax or other treatment of donations and will encourage donors to seek advice from their professional advisers to assist them in the donation process.
Semia Onlus will accept donations in cash or listed securities. Gifts of services in kind will be accepted at the discretion of Semia Onlus.
Certain other gifts, real estate, personal property, gifts in kind, illiquid securities and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is limited in some way, need to be reviewed prior to acceptance due to special obligations or responsibilities may be needed for Semia Onlus.
Semia Onlus will provide a receipt to donors in possession of the tax requirements for the properties received as a gift from the charity. However, with the exception of donations in cash and listed securities, no value will be attributed to any receipt or other form of proof of a gift received by Semia Onlus.
Semia Onlus will respect the donor's intentions relating to gifts for limited purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. Regarding anonymous gifts, Semia Onlus will limit information about the donor to only those staff members who need to know.
Semia Onlus will not compensate, either through commissions, research fees or other means, any third party for having sent a gift or donor to Semia Onlus.
